Chip called me up one day all excited in his usual manor saying he had this short melody burning in his head and he wanted to come over and see what we could do with it. Of course I'm always excited for opportunities for friends to come over and record a little especially when it was the fun and loving Chip.

That weekend Chip comes over and begins humming the melody to me as I pick it out on guitar. It's the main hook you hear from the beginning of the song and throughout on the guitar and bass. We began layering drums and more guitar parts. I didn't know this but he had a piece of paper in his pocket with some lyrics he had written and wanted to see if he could give it a shot at singing them. I hooked up the mic gave him some earphones and we were off again. I remember how timid Chip was singing this part. I would have to remind him that it was just the two of us and let it all out. The end result is awesome and 100% Chip.

Chip had some new software on his computer at home and wanted to take a stab at mixing the song so we output each of the tracks, uploaded them to Dropbox and he was off. About a week later I get an update that a new file had been uploaded to that dropbox folder and a Facebook messenger message saying go check out the mix. Chip had put his touch to it and it is great.

I upload this file virtually untouched for you all to enjoy.

I miss you buddy. We will jam again some day.
